The SERI Suture Lab allows upcoming medical professionals the chance to learn proper suturing technique. The lab is an hour and a half total and begins with an instructor teaching the different suturing techniques. The students will then be provided with some pig feet and sutures and allowed to practice on their own. The suture lab is $50.

SERI hosts anatomy and suture labs for upcoming medical professionals. Whether youre a nursing student, pre-medical student, or EMT student, this program is an amazing opportunity. The anatomy lab is three hours in length and includes a basic anatomy lecture, surgery moderation of a disc replacement spine surgery, and a dissection of human specimens. Through these dissections students will be able to dissect a torso and examine all of the organs including heart, lungs, liver, etc. Unlike other classes provided at universities, this program uses non-preserved specimens. This means that a heart will actually resemble a live human heart and still contain some coagulated blood. Further, the students will be able to dissect on the cadaver themselves and feel the organs. The SERI Anatomy Lab is a great opportunity to learn on a real human specimen and turn book knowledge into a live interactive reality. The anatomy lab is $100 and includes dinner.

The Scientific Education and Research Institute (SERI) is an innovative and state-of-the-art medical education facility. SERI has outstanding A/V capabilities for your medical venue. This medical education facility can broadcast live surgeries or cadaver lab demonstrations from the OR or bioskills lab to our 3,000 sq. ft. amphitheater. The bioskills lab, OR, and amphitheater can all be connected simultaneously with audio and video for your specific medical device course needs. SERI has two different bio-skills labs. The bio-skills labs are supplied with a vast variety of general surgical instruments including scalpels, forceps, 4x4s, metzenbaum scissors, iris scissors, hemostats, needle holders, retractors, rongeurs, cob elevators, curettes, mallets, osteotomes, and much more. The Scientific Education and Research Institute’s bioskills cadaver lab also has endoscopes and light sources, Surgis surgical lights equipped with cameras, a microscope, drills, and saws. We have two C-arms and plenty of leads provided free of charge that are available on weekends or during the week after 5pm. We also partner with MedicaEdge, a device company that can provide bovies, suction, and additional C-arms if necessary.
